5 days left with these very interesting people onboard.
I’m so excited to leave but so thankful for the cast I got to experience. You were the strangest, funniest and most interesting group of people I’ve worked with in a while. Also known as the United Nations we have been together since September. I shared my birthday, Christmas and New Years with them all just to name a few plus, our own versions of international holidays heavily revolving around drinking. It’s been such a great few months and provided me with what I needed at this time last year

Into the wind

This last week is going to be epic.
Lots of beers and lots of memories to be made.
I’m throwing my hands up and just enjoying what little time we all have together. Life is too short to be worried about drama.

Inertia.

Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, Talent.

“There is something beautiful about saying goodbye to someone you’ll see again soon.”

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a post as I’ve been quite preoccupied the past two weeks. Firstly I was surprised by my now handsome boyfriend from Canada as he was coming to visit me with a cruise and also with the ship going back into service it’s just been go go go.

After my first short cruise D joined me on the 9th and we had the most amazing week together. He got to watch me perform and we got to spend some much needed time together before our long break apart. Our story is quite a hectic one with a two year break and then after seeing each other again a sudden realisation of how precious time is and that we need to take this chance if we are ever going to take it. So in saying that we decided to make plans together and promises in what we would like our future to entail. It’s been a long time coming and I’m glad we finally are working on something together.

This week was extra special as we got to spend Valentines day together which we did on the beach in Mexico. With a week of dinners out, shows, too much to drink and nice sleep-ins (which were much deserved) I’m coming away from this week happier more than anything. Progress and time is what we needed and this week allowed that. It’s just another chapter in our crazy story. Miami, Jamaica, Mexico, Canada and next stop London.

This has been such a lovely last week here in South Florida before I fly to Rome on Friday and start my adventures throughout Europe. We’ve spent this week rehearsing like crazy and today we perform for our bosses and peers before we leave. My cast has made this rehearsal period here in South Florida so memorable and I look forward to spending a lot more time with them . We are such an eclectic group of big personalities that can all bounce of each other and take something from one another which I feel is extremely rewarding.

This week also allowed me to spend the last bit of time with people that I might not see for a long long time. Peoples paths cross for many reasons and I believe if these people have made an impact on you that they will continue being a part of your life. Feeling so comfortable and outgoing with someone is so refreshing and makes me feel so relaxed. For the last two weeks I haven’t had to second guess myself and have been able to be that quirky weird person that my closest friends know and love to someone new in my life and realised that I’m not alone in being a little weird. Being generic is for losers. I take so much away from my time here but I leave behind so much as well.

After a long week of rehearsals I think we are all well deserving a chill day with beers and good company by the pool. Spending the week getting close to this cast has been so rewarding and hilarious. Getting back into dancing full time again has been my only major struggle.  But I’m feeling good and hopefully getting back my body that I miss dearly as I’m quite emaciated at the moment.  It’s also so nice to be in this nice hot South florida weather, coming straight from a beautiful London summer to this I’ve been very lucky.

I think it’s time to crack open another beer and relax before rehearsals again tomorrow.

High levels of Swag in the atmosphere.

Last Thursday I touched down in Miami and travelled to my new home for 6 weeks whilst in rehearsals before I embark to an array of different destinations. After my long flight and being met with South Florida heat wearing my autumn UK apparel I found myself relaxing in my new place and getting to know my new roommates.
It’s always interesting getting to know new people and after a few awkward hellos we started bonding. Dancing in a studio automatically brings people closer I feel
1. There is a lot of touching and partnering so automatically you are close to the person.
2. You are covered in sweat quite quickly therefore giving you nowhere to hide externally
and
3. It’s all out chosen craft so it’s something we are all interested in, share similar views on and can relate to if we can’t relate on a personal level yet.

After a few days of rehearsing and orientation we decided to go for dinner and a out for a wee dance which is where I feel everyone relaxed. The drinks were flowing, nicknames were assigned and shoulders were leant on (after an unfortunate rogue latin heel attack). It was a fun night and a good way to keep the bonding going. We then spent the latter part of yesterday out by the pool for some more bonding with the entire cast and are now looking forward to another week of rehearsals together. I’m excited to see how we form into a close knit group and look forward to experiencing an extended period of time with these new faces. I hope they feel the same.

L is London

I arrived on my first day here into cold miserable weather and was met at the airport. Today I leave alone on what is a beautiful day. London has been such a gift over the past 8 months and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I’ve fallen in love with the city and will be back next year to continue what already is a fantastic journey.
Along the way so many people have made it what it is and those people are the greatest gift of all. I hold them all so close to my heart.

I’m sitting here at Heathrow airport having a starbucks and doing what I do best people watching. I’m going to have to get use to doing this solo without my Partner in crime James. He’s made my life so very happy and I’m honoured to call him a best friend. This is just the beginning of our friendship and I know Texas and TJ will be back for all y’all in the near future.

My flight leaves soon and I’m planning on getting as much free alcohol on it as possible to make my arrival to Miami not so stressful (I hate airports yet my life revolves around them).
A short video of a few clips I found on my computer highlighting my time in London.

I leave happy and fulfilled and excited for my new adventure. It’s time to live.

What did you do for those pearls…?

This weekend I got to involved in a
performance with a group of outstanding people.
It was a short lived cast as it wasn’t a
long gig but it was indeed quite a large one.
For us we didn’t realise the extent of how big
the event was and how much money would be invested into
it until we arrived and it was so dope.
The best thing about the whole experience was the people.
I know I’m loud, obnoxious and can get on your right nerve
but I hope I didn’t too much this past weekend because
everyone I met involved with the gig was so insightful
and really reminded you of why I love this profession.
Not only am I doing what I love but I’m meeting unbelievable
people along the way as its a constant whirlwind of new
experiences and casts.

As it’s such a small community I know I’ll be running into these
people in different circumstances but again I just want
to thank all involved on making it such a fun weekend.
